PokeBonk - Play Online
PokeBonk is a free, unofficial 3D Pokemon survivor game. Choose a partner, survive wild hordes, strengthen your moves and evolve while building your League across runs.
What is PokeBonk?
PokeBonk is a free, unofficial 3D Pokemon survivor game featuring the 151 Kanto Pokemon. You control a partner in real time, survive wild Pokemon hordes, develop a build and use evolution and Ultimate abilities to take on tougher encounters. Your League holds the partners you unlock across runs.
The central challenge is balancing movement with a growing build. You need enough damage to handle the horde, enough room to avoid being surrounded and a plan for the next objective. A run is not just about defeating the nearest enemy: exploring, choosing upgrades and preparing for tougher encounters matter too.
How to start playing PokeBonk
Select Start Game, then choose Play as a guest! to begin without registering, or sign in to your account. Choose a partner, review its abilities and complete the run setup. Your partner determines the kit you build around, so learn what its attacks do before selecting upgrades.
The first load downloads game data and connects to the PokeBonk server. On a phone, rotate to landscape for the game interface. The Save game button on this page stores a local favorite, not a character save or a PokeBonk account.
PokeBonk controls
Use these default keyboard and mouse bindings. Custom bindings in the settings replace the defaults.
- W, A, S, D: move your Pokemon.
- Mouse movement: control the camera; mouse wheel: zoom.
- Space: jump; Left Shift: slide.
- E: interact with nearby objects.
- R: activate your Ultimate when it is available.
- Right mouse button: lock a target; Q: aim.
- M: open the map; T: toggle autorun.
- P: pause or resume. Unlike Escape, P does not also exit browser fullscreen.
Leveling up, upgrades and evolution
Experience moves you toward the next level, where you choose upgrades for your build. A new move adds another attack, a move upgrade strengthens an existing attack, and a vitamin improves a stat. These choices serve different purposes: compare the effect with what your partner already does well and what your run is missing.
Each move has damage, cooldown and range information, along with the stats that strengthen it. Use those details to connect an upgrade to an actual attack rather than choosing an unrelated bonus just because its number is larger.
Build around your current partner instead of spreading choices across unrelated bonuses. If you already clear ordinary enemies but lose to incoming damage, a defensive choice may be more useful than another small damage increase. If enemies survive long enough to surround you, improving your main source of damage can help keep a route open.
Evolution changes your Pokemon as the run develops. Check that partner's evolution information rather than assuming every species evolves at the same level or has the same requirements. Ultimate abilities are a separate part of your kit: watch their availability and use them when their effect can make a difference, rather than pressing R only after you are trapped.
Aiming, positioning and Ultimate abilities
Camera direction, target selection and movement work together. Auto-aim and manual aim offer different ways to manage targeting; manual aim uses the camera. Use the aiming setting that lets you track enemies while keeping your escape route visible. Locking a target helps you focus on an encounter, but you still need to move away from surrounding enemies.
An Ultimate is a partner ability, not an evolution or a permanent upgrade. Learn its effect before relying on it: the useful moment depends on what that ability does and where enemies are positioned. Keep R available for a meaningful opportunity instead of treating every small group as an emergency.
Classic mode, guardians and Survival
Classic mode takes you through successive zones. Level up and open Poke Balls to prepare, wake the zone's guardian and defeat it to open the portal to the next zone. Press M to locate objectives on the map. Moving on before your build is ready makes the next encounter harder to manage.
Survival focuses on lasting through hordes and milestones rather than following the same zone-to-zone objective. Choose a mode according to what you want to practice: navigation and guardian encounters in Classic, or maintaining a build under continuing pressure in Survival. Follow the active run's objective text because event rules and available options can change.
Capturing Pokemon and building your League
A temporary companion and a League member serve different roles. A Friend Ball recruits a Pokemon to fight alongside you for the current run; it does not add that Pokemon to your League. League unlocks expand your longer-term partner collection.
Your League is your partner collection across runs; your level and build belong to the current attempt. Check the League screen after a run to see the partners available for your next start. Seeing a Pokemon in the arena does not unlock it as a starting partner.
A better first survival run
Prioritize room to move. If enemies are gathering on one side, head toward open ground rather than trying to force a path through the largest group. Treat each attempt as a chance to learn how your current Pokemon handles pressure.
Choose upgrades that support the attacks you already use. Before a guardian encounter, check your health, available Ultimate and route away from the enemy. If a run ends quickly, identify whether the problem was low damage, incoming hits or getting surrounded, then adjust that part of your next build.
PokeBonk FAQ
Is PokeBonk free to play?
Yes. PokeBonk is free to play in your browser. You do not need to purchase the game or pay to start a run.
Do I need to download PokeBonk or install an APK?
No. PokeBonk runs in a browser with JavaScript and WebGL. Start the game on this page without installing an APK, downloading a game package or visiting an app store.
Can I play PokeBonk on mobile?
Use landscape orientation on a phone and the game's on-screen controls. Mobile performance depends on your device and browser's WebGL support. If the game struggles, close other demanding tabs and try a current WebGL-capable browser.
The touch interface uses a joystick for movement and buttons for jumping, sliding, your Ultimate, target lock and interaction. Pause and aiming controls sit at the top. Keep enough screen space free to see enemies approaching while using the touch buttons.
Why does PokeBonk say it cannot connect?
PokeBonk needs a connection to its game server to access server-based features and progress. Check your internet connection, read the connection error and retry in a current browser. A server outage requires the service to recover; downloading another copy does not fix it.
Can I play without an account, and where is progress saved?
Yes. Guest play works without registration. Guest progress is stored on the server and linked to your device, and you can convert guest access into an account. The favorite button on this page only stores a local bookmark. Use the game's account options to manage account access; a bookmark does not transfer progress between devices.
Are all 151 Kanto Pokemon playable from the start?
The 151 Kanto Pokemon form the game's featured roster, not a list of immediately unlocked starting partners. Your League determines which partners you can select. Check each unavailable partner's unlock requirements as you progress.
What should I upgrade first?
Start with the attacks and strengths of your chosen partner. Read each upgrade's effect and the move information, then decide what is limiting your run: clearing enemies, staying alive or keeping space to move. There is no single upgrade order that works for every partner and difficulty.
How do I evolve my Pokemon?
Evolution depends on your selected partner and its evolution requirements. Gain experience, develop your run and check that partner's evolution details. Different Pokemon do not share a single universal evolution level, and an Ultimate activation does not replace an evolution requirement.
